NFL: Damar Hamlin visited his Bills teammates before the game against the Bengals

Damar Hamlin visited his teammates in the locker room ahead of their Division Championship game against the Bengals from Cincinnati sunday.

The 24-year-old was accompanied by his family, including his mother Nina and brother Damir.

However, he was not on the sidelines during the game, at Highmark Stadium. And the Bills made no announcement to fans in the stadium about Hamlin’s whereabouts.

The Bengals ultimately triumphed 27-10.

This visit came almost three weeks after he suffered a cardiac arrest during a game.

Bills head coach Sean McDermott said this week that Hamlin was with them almost daily, including Tuesday and Wednesday, but did not attend team meetings. He takes things one at a time.

“That’s what he needs. We can support him, we try to be there for him and follow him at his pace,” said McDermott. “We are there for him and we want what is best for him. It’s good to enjoy his presence. »

A family spokesperson said this week that Hamlin still has a long rehabilitation ahead of him.

“Damar still needs oxygen and his heart is monitored regularly to ensure there are no sequelae or setbacks,” Jordon Rooney told The Associated Press.

The Bills have not released the results of tests Hamlin underwent to determine why his heart stopped after being punched in the chest while performing what appeared to be a routine tackle.

Hamlin, who is from the Pittsburgh area, reacted live on Twitter from his hospital bed at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center while watching the Bills defeat the New England Patriots 35-23 in the last game of the regular schedule, January 8.

Last week, he did the same thing, but from his home, in the playoff game the Bills won 34-31 against the Miami Dolphins.
