Despite not being one hundred percent, Luka Doncic returned with the Mavericks and did it big, showing off another spectacular night in which he again exceeded 50 points and script in Dallas to a 111-105 victory over the Detroit Pistons.

Doncic missed almost two games with an ankle injury, on Thursday against the Suns he had to leave the game in the first minutes and against Utah on Saturday, he was completely unable to play. But the break was good for him as the Slovenian returned motivated and gave one of the best nights of his NBA career.

Luka finished with 53 points, scored 24 points in the first quarter and then in the third he turned on again scoring 18 units.

More history for Luka Doncic

With his 53 points, the Mavs star matched the franchise’s second-best mark, a record he shares with Dirk Nowitzki who got them against the Rockets in December 2004. Doncic was close to his own record, which is 60 points.

It was the fifth game with 50 or more points of his career, four of them have arrived this campaign.

As if that were not enough, according to ESPN Stats, Luka joins Michael Jordan with 17 and LeBron James also with 5, as the only players in the last 50 years with most 50-point games in his first five seasons.
