Two dream weeks in the USA. This is what awaits 16 young people from Hawks in July. This stay will be supervised by three coaches and a player mother.

Once again, the club will allow a group to leave for a few days on the other side of the Atlantic to to play baseball and face players of their age.

“We’ve been doing this for several years. This time, the group is a little younger. We will have players from 12 to 14 years old. All are part of the academy”, presents Grégory Penfornis, coach at the Hawks of La Guerche-de-Bretagne.

This summer, the group will fly to New York et Freeport. The first week will be devoted to exploring the city with a cultural component. On the sporting side, four matches will be on the program.

In the second city, a five-day tournament awaits players with one to two matches per day. “There, we will be immersed in families”, specifies the coach of the Hawks.

A growing club

For two weeks, the club’s young licensees will be able to compete at a very high level. “In the USA, everyone plays baseball at home. It’s very good for our young people to be able to compete with them, because they are all at university level,” rejoices Grégory Penfornis.

This stay will also be an opportunity to show the French training and in particular that of the Hawks, recognized for several years.

To help finance this trip, the Let’s Go association (players’ parents) organized events such as lotteries and the sale of apple juice, for example.
