Kevin/Marcus failed to qualify for the semifinals of the 2023 India Open

The progress of Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Marcus Fernaldi Gideon in the 2023 India Open stopped in the quarterfinals. Minions were defeated by Liang Weikeng/Wang Chang in straight sets.

The quarterfinals of the 2023 India Open men’s doubles match Kevin/Marcus against Liang/Wang. The match took place at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Hall, New Delhi, Friday (20/1/2023) evening WIB.

Kevin/Marcus had difficulty dealing with the opponent’s aggression at the start of the first set and trailed 2-8. Liang/Wang reached the interval with an 11-3 lead.

Liang/Wang were able to lead by 10 points 16-6 after the interval. Kevin/Marcus narrowed the lead to 11-17.

Liang/Wang reached game point 20-12. The world number 11 pair ended the first set with victory 21-12.

Kevin/Marcus trailed 3-7, 6-10 at the start of the second set. The Minions trailed Liang/Wang 8-11 at the interval.

Minions trailed 12-14 and 18-19 after the interval. Liang/Wang broke away from Kevin/Marcus and entered match point 20-18.

Liang Wiekeng’s smash responsibility ensured that China’s doubles won 21-18. Kevin/Marcus were eliminated and added to their poor record against Liang/Wang to three defeats from three meetings.
