Kasper: “Essential for the development of VfB Stuttgart”

VfB Stuttgart is keen to own its own marketing rights – it should remain so in the future, but there is one crucial change that will pay off for the Swabians right away.

Wants to market VfB even better: Rouven Kasper.

As the Stuttgart-based company announced on Monday, a cooperation with the sports rights marketer “Sportfive” was negotiated. “The support of existing sponsors and partners as well as the implementation of the marketing rights remain entirely with VfB,” says the mediation, but from now on distribution will be “joint”.

The internationally active and quite successful company “Sportfive” should help with its expertise to acquire new sponsors and partners as well as to develop new marketing products and to use marketing opportunities optimally. For VfB Marketing Director Rouven Kasper, who once worked for “Sportfive” for many years, this is “essential for the development of our VfB and an absolute win-win situation.”

It is particularly important to the Stuttgart-based company that they keep “all marketing rights in their own hands”. This means that VfB will continue to be “the direct contractual partner for existing and potential sponsors” and will thus retain “full decision-making authority in all commercial issues”.

VfB hopes for financial relaxation

The cooperation has been agreed for the next five years, i.e. up to the 2027/28 season – and both sides want to benefit from it. VfB hopes for additional sources of income and the associated easing of the financial situation, “Sportfive” in turn receives an unspecified commission for every contract concluded and is already paying an unknown sum for signing.

Stuttgart is not the first football club to work with “Sportfive”. FC Bayern, Borussia Dortmund, Paris St-Germain, Real Madrid, FC Liverpool or Bayer 04 Leverkusen, Hertha BSC, Union Berlin, FC Augsburg and Hamburger SV also maintain economic relationships with the sports rights marketer, who, in addition to football, also sells various other sports such as motor sports, handball, tennis, American football or eSports.
