Inter Milan won 1-0 against Hellas Verona and now have as many points as third-placed Juventus.
Inter Milan did not miss the opportunity to join Juventus in third place in Serie A, after the rout of the Bianconeri in Naples (5-1) on Friday, winning Saturday at San Siro against the relegated Hellas Verona (1-0).
The Nerazzurri quickly took the lead thanks to a goal from Lautaro Martinez, author of a dry strike out of balance for his ninth goal in the league (3rd).
But then they mainly sought to manage, failing to score a second goal which would have given them a more serene end to the game.
This success allows them to join the number of points Juventus (3rd), ten points behind the Neapolitan leader and one length from AC Milan (2nd), hanging in Lecce (2-2) on Saturday. The Rossoneri against whom the Nerazzurri will play the first trophy of the season, the Italian Super Cup, on Wednesday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
