The Latvian women’s basketball champion team “TTT Rīga” has agreed on a contract with Ilzi Jākobsoni, who has played in Turkey, Mexico and Israel in the last year and a half, until the end of the season.

In the first half of the season, Jakobson represented Israel’s vice-champion Maccabi Ashdod. The defense averaged 8.0 points and 3.7 assists in 29.7 minutes in three games. In the European Cup, he averaged 6.9 points, 3.3 assists and 1.9 rebounds in 32.8 minutes in eight games.
In the spring and early summer, the Latvian represented the “Panteras de Aguascalientes” team, winning 11 victories in 20 games in the Mexican championship (10-6 in the main tournament, fourth place). Valmieriete became the best passer in the regular season, averaging 6.3 assists.
The defense ended the season in the strong Turkish league on April 19, 2022. Istanbul Besiktas finished in ninth place, but Jákobsone averaged 8.6 points and 2.6 assists in 26:24 minutes. Valmieriete made 42.37% three-point shots (50/118) and 36.36% two-point shots (28/77), as well as 79.2% free throws (19/24).
Ilze Jākobsone made her TTT debut on October 13, 2012, in a Latvian-Estonian league home game against “AmEst Rapla” team. The point guard played 67 games in three seasons, scored 568 points, won 149 balls under the basket and made 168 assists. Under the leadership of coach Aigaras Neripa, he became the champion of Latvia (2014) and the winner of the Latvian-Estonian league (2014).
The defense returned to TTT in 2020, playing one season under the leadership of Mārtiņš Gulbja. Due to government restrictions, the Baltic League season was cancelled. Jákobsone made her Euroleague debut, where she scored 34 points, won 11 balls and made 18 assists in six games. 92 points, 11 rebounds and 23 assists in eight games in the European Women’s Basketball League.
He made his debut in the Latvian national team on May 24, 2016 in Riga against Belarus. Represented the national team in two European final tournaments (2017, 2019). In the national team, she scored 139 points in 41 games. He scored 237 points in 48 games in the youth national team, including 172 points in 34 games in the U20 national team. Three-time champion of Latvia (2012, 2014, 2021).
