Hozier and Washington power Hornets over Heat

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Terry Hozier scored 31 points, PJ Washington had 27 points and the Charlotte Hornets ended Miami’s three-game winning streak with a 122-117 victory over the Heat on Sunday. .

LaMelo Ball recorded 13 of his 19 points in the fourth quarter. With the win, Charlotte improved to 7-16 at home. Gordon Hayward was perfect, hitting all seven of his field goal attempts for 20 points.

Rozier also had seven assists and six rebounds. He made 11 of his 19 field goal attempts, including 5 of 11 3-point attempts.

Jimmy Butler had 28 points for Miami, and Tyler Herro had 24.

The Heat led 62-58 after Rozier hit a 3-pointer from midcourt to clinch the first half.

Miami went on a 10-1 run to start the third quarter. Herro hit two 3-pointers to help put the Heat up by 13 points.

But Charlotte rallied, and Mason Plumlee scored after grabbing the ball after Rozier won it on a jumper. Ball hit a 3-pointer to put Charlotte ahead 114-106 with 1:50 to play.
