Agents of the Padua Flying Squad – Widespread Crime Section they carried out a new intervention close to the junction of the northern ring road, where already a week ago, while searching some of the cavities, they had found about fifty doses of cocaine (concealed together with a sling bar, packaging material, a baseball bat, a machete and a blank pistol complete with magazine and numerous cartridges). On this other occasion the police managed to block and arrest one of the pushera 23-year-old of declared Algerian nationality, never before registered on the national territory.

Having noticed a suspicious coming and going near a service gate located at the foot of one of the pillars of the ring road, near the intersection between via Ronchi Bassi and via Po’, and having already ascertained in recent weeks the effective use of those places as a drug dealing base, the policemen set up yet another observation service. They were thus able to ascertain the frequent arrival in the area of ​​some cars, to whose drivers – who signaled their presence with a simple blow of the “horn” – was lowered from the high by means of a rope a plastic container, from inside which they took the wrappers, then placing the banknotes inside. Stopped and checked two of them (a 24-year-old from Bronzola di Campodarsego and a 44-year-old from Vigonza, both sanctioned with immediate withdrawal of their driving licence) the agents received confirmation of the drug sales carried out, in fact seizing two distinct doses of cocaine against .

With many difficulties, the agents entered the cavity of the pylon to reach the individual previously identified as probable pusher – the 23-year-old Algerian. To escape control, he jumped from a height of about 4 meters, but was still reached and finally blocked. Following a reconnaissance of the places, a further 10 doses of cocaine were found and seized and the presence of various beds documented, as well as material attributable to drug dealing. The sum of 330 euros was also found and seized on the arrested person, the proceeds of the illegal activity. Also two years ago, on the trail of some young North Africans dedicated to drug dealing and to soiling the arcades between via Dupré, Fornace Morandi, Moretto da Brescia and Lorenzo da Bologna, the same policemen of the Flying Squad traced the tunnels that run under the ring road, also in that case equipped for bivouacs and for the custody, preparation and packaging of narcotic substances. On that occasion, the personnel inside the tunnels were guided by some handcrafted alarm systems positioned in various passages in order to signal possible unwanted intrusions. Many ounces of cocaine and hashish were seized, as well as baseball bats, pepper spray cans and electric tasers.
