Gregory Echenique achieves an amazing mark in Japanese basketball | basketball 123

For several years now, the Venezuelan center, Gregory Echenique, has lived in Japan, where he also lives professionally. Since his arrival in oriental basketball, the 32-year-old native has managed to penetrate perfectly and this weekend he managed to set a scoring record by reaching 4,000 points scored.

To be more exact, the native of Guatire came to Japanese basketball for the 19-20 season, coming from Filou Oostende of Belgium. Echenique arrived to sign with the Hiroshima Dragonflies team, the team with which he debuted in Japan and where he stayed for three seasons.

During those three years, the Mirandino center achieved promotion with the team and remained in a couple of seasons in the first division. In these three campaigns he averaged 21.2, 17.1 and 9.9 points per game, being one of the main scorers for the Hiroshima team.. However, for this campaign, Echenique announced that he would not continue with Dragonflies.

For this campaign, the Fukushima Firebonds team from the Japanese second division announced the signing of the former player from Creighton University, or Guaros de Lara. With the Fukushima team, Echenique has achieved a new renaissance in Japanese basketball and is averaging 16.9 units per game.

In total, the center that was part of the national team that went to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, has managed to score more than 4,000 points within the sport of the heights of Japan, where he is a reference and one of the most feared men in the paint.
