Good news for league clubs, the generous UEFA will send them a significantly larger purse

Every crown is good, in the given case of so-called solidarity payments, it is more precisely euros. Every year, the European Football Union (UEFA) redistributes part of the funds generated from its club competitions among all national associations. Within the framework of the rules and the agreement between the LFA and the FAČR, these funds go to the talented youth of clubs of the highest competition, with the fact that the total amount is distributed to clubs that started in the season in question in the Fortuna League and at the same time did not participate in the basic groups of any of the European cups.

For the last competition year 2021/22, it therefore concerns thirteen clubs, as Sparta, Slavia and Jablonec played in the basic groups of the European, respectively Conference leagues. The distributed amount has increased significantly.

“At the same time, the shares for individual associations are calculated using a new methodology, where only 10% is newly distributed according to the value of the Champions League television market instead of the previous 40% and the remaining 90% according to the position of the individual associations in the UEFA club competition rankings for the 2021/22 competition year,” he explains Bart.

Thirteen participants of the Czech top competition from the competition year 2021/22 will thus be equally divided, according to the key set by UEFA, in a total amount of 2,970,000 euros, whereas last year it was only 735,828 euros.

Specifically, each Czech league club that did not play in the main part of the European Cups in the 2021/22 season will receive roughly 230,000 euros (about 5.5 million crowns). For the current season, it could be up to 400 thousand euros (9.5 million crowns) for teams without European cups.

One of the key points of the committee’s program was the schedule for the upcoming competition year. The 2023/24 season will once again include an extension part with a total of 35 league rounds and a playoff for promotion from the second league. In the summer, both top competitions will start on the weekend of the 22nd-23rd. July 2023.

“In the course of the first half of the season, we have to count on three representative breaks. We have recently included one inserted round at Fortuna of the National League right at the beginning of August. After years affected by covid and the unusual date of the World Cup last year, we can afford an eight-week winter break for Fortuna League clubs, which I consider adequate,” Dušan Svoboda, chairman of the LFA League Committee, evaluates the approved draft schedule.

LFA has extended its contract with Louda Auto for two years, which will continue to bring 250 cars to the clubs. League clubs drove more than 7.2 million kilometers last year in cars from the official LFA partner.
