Goalless again: Cristiano Ronaldo eliminated from Saudi Cup with Al-Nassr FC | Sports

First really bitter bankruptcy for Cristiano Ronaldo (37) in Saudi Arabia!

The Al-Nassr FC superstar was eliminated 3-1 by series champions Al-Ittihad FC in the semi-finals of the Saudi Super Cup – yet again without scoring.

Al-Nassr fans will have to wait for the Portuguese’s first goal. An evening to forget for the striker!

First, Al-Ittihad takes the lead through Brazilian Romarinho (15′).

▶ 43. Minute: CR7 hits a header from close range – too unplaced. Practically in return, Hamdallah scored 2-0 for the eight-time champion Al-Ittihad from Jeddah.

▶ 65 minutes: Ronaldo fails because of his prime discipline – the free kick! From a good 17 meters he shoots over the goal from an acute angle.

Frustration! Cristiano Ronaldo’s first goal for Al-Nassr just doesn’t seem to work…

Ronaldo club Al-Nassr shortened a little later, Talisca made the semi-finals in the Saudi Cup exciting again (67th) – in contrast to Ronaldo, he scored for the 13th time in the 14th game this season.

But Saudi striker Al-Shanqeeti put the lid on it to make it 3-1 for Al-Ittihad – and the five-time Ballon d’Or winner is out of the Saudi Cup!

And he’s still waiting for his first competitive goal in the desert: the once-prolific Portuguese star also remained goalless in his Al-Nassr debut against Ettifaq FC (1-0). Now his second game without a goal in a row.

Will the sheikhs like that? After all, Ronaldo collects a salary of around 200 million euros per season for his two years at the desert club.

Most recently, CR7 scored two goals in a fun kick with a Saudi selection, the Riyadh All Stars, against Paris St. Germain (5: 4) with world champion Lionel Messi (35). Messi scored just once in a completely insane game.

The next chance for his first competitive goal comes next week on Friday. Then the table leader Al-Nassr in the league meets the table eighth Al-Fateh (4 p.m.).
