“GLOBALLERS”, which discovers and nurtures “ballers who can compete with the world”, announces tryouts in 2023! – Basket Count | Basket Count

Last year, after a domestic training camp, 6 players went on an expedition to the United States as an overseas challenge.

The “GLOBALLERS Project” is a project to discover and nurture “Japanese basketball players who can compete with the world” by discovering young talents who fly from Japan to the world.

Under the slogan “TO THE NEW PATH”, we are working with the desire to present that “new path” to young players who are even slightly conscious of overseas. Founded by Mr. Futoshi Nakayama, the president of Sun Chlorella Co., Ltd., BANG LEE of “SpaceBall Mag” and MARU of “KAGO BASKETBALL SCHOOL” participate as producers and coaches to manage the site.

There are still few paths to follow as a basketball player, and in the U15 generation, good players inevitably go to high school powerhouses, and the options are quite limited, such as college and B league. Taking on overseas challenges is an important experience for increasing the number of paths and expanding the range of activities. However, even if you go on to junior high school and high school and aim to challenge yourself overseas, the “difference in physical ability” and “language” will be big obstacles. In addition, there are few opportunities for people under the age of 15 to go abroad in any sport. From an early stage, they will go overseas and practice high-level practices and games while receiving guidance from local coaches with athletes with high physical ability. The experience can expand the possibilities as a basketball player.

In the “GLOBALLERS Project”, a selected team “Team GLOBALLERS” was formed from the tryouts that will be held this time. Through domestic activities such as training camps and expeditions as a team, further selection of players who will challenge overseas. In the US expedition, aiming to study basketball after graduating from junior high school, we will practice and play with local players with the goal of acquiring a scholarship (scholarship) from a local school and Sun Chlorella Co., Ltd.

In last year’s “GLOBALLERS Project”, about 350 players participated in tryouts all over the country. Among them, 6 players took on the American expedition as an overseas challenge after a domestic training camp. The GLOBALLERS JAPAN players in their home of Los Angeles in the United States seemed to be overwhelmed by the strength of the local players they witnessed, but they clung to the “experience that can only be done here.”

For the players, this experience was a great opportunity for them to learn from various local coaches, take English conversation lessons during the three months before going to the field, and communicate with the coaches and players. It would have expanded the possibilities of
