Giannis Antetokounmpo and Milwaukee Bucks regain their place as a force in the Eastern Conference

The month of December was a difficult one for the Milwaukee Bucksthat between injuries and some bad games, they seemed to have given up their place of privilege as one of the top two or three teams in the Eastern Conference. The Budenholzers they lost 7 of 11 games between December 11 and January 1 and doubts began to arise about his potential to fight for a new title.

Nevertheless, everything has been coming together for the Bucks in recent weeks, at least in the games in which they have Giannis Antetokounmpo. With the Greek on the field, Milwaukee leads 9-1 record in his last 10 appearances and this Sunday they gave a new sample of that good present, defeating some Pelicans full of casualties, by 135-110.

The match had a simply monstrous performance by Antetokounmpowho only had to play 30 minutes to end with 50 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and a 20-26 field. Huge.

Giannis already has two games of at least 50 points in 2023 (he had scored 55 against Washington) and four of +40 during that stretch mentioned of their last 10 games. Everything in a campaign that is seeing it for above 30 units on average for the first time in his carrer.

But a better sign than all that is the fact that his triple percentages finally seem to be back to normal. Antetokounmpo had been totally fighting with the shot from three during this season, hovering around the 20% hit during much of it. However, history has begun to reverse and in three of his last four games, he scored at least 2 triples, combining a 7 out of 15 in that period.

Obviously the shot from three will always be a weak point for Giannisbut if he manages to get at least close to the 30% where it was in the previous three years, it would be a step forward for a Milwaukee that has had perimeter shooting issues throughout 2022-2023, boosted by the loss of Khris Middleton.
