Giannis Antetokounmpo (50 points, 13 rebounds) explodes the Pelicans

Carried by a titanic Giannis Antetokounmpo (50 points, 13 rebounds), the Bucks have without too many problems the C team of the Pelicans and come back almost up to the Sixers in second place in the Eastern Conference.

For the stat sheet of this match, it’s here.

We know that some will explain to us that yes, it was a very diminished team from the Pelicans opposite. That NOLA no longer puts one foot in front of the other in 2023 with its leaders who repeatedly squat the infirmary, that a performance is therefore always easier to achieve. Ok for all that but at some point you have to recognize the facts: Giannis Antetokounmpo is a steamroller and he is working at full power at the moment. After putting 33 to the Nuggets and 41 to the Pacers, the Freak went up a notch again last night.

50 points, 13 rebounds, 20/26 in shooting including 3/4 from afar, all in just… 30 minutes. It’s strong, it’s violent, and the Pelicans have never been able to calm the storm Giannis. Untenable from the outset (18 points in the first quarter), the Greek martyred the opposing racket throughout. As we headed quietly towards the end of the game, the Freak gave a final boost to get his 50 points with two big award-winning shots in a row, just before going out under the MVPs of a crowd in trance facing the new perf of his franchise player.

It’s already the Bucks star’s second 50-point game this season, the fifth of Antetokounmpo’s career. Obviously, we will not be able to equate this match to that of an Embiid the day before, because there is not a Nikola Jokic in front or a team at the top of its form and confidence, but this performance also shows all the seriousness by Giannis. It doesn’t matter if the team opposite is bare or what, no night off, we don’t slow down and we give 130% to bully them to the end. No mercy this Greek Freak.

Giannis Antetokounmpo left the Pelicans hopeless tonight. A new mammoth performance for the Milwaukee star, simply an MVP performance.
