Franqueville Park hosts the 10 kilometers of Restos du Coeur on Sunday January 29

“It is indeed intended to take place on the last Sunday of January in Franqueville, testifies Stéphane Lalanne, permanent at Ufolep. It is a commitment made between the organizers, the Restos du Coeur and the town hall of Bizanos. The date was negotiated with the managers of the other Bearnaise races so as not to step on each other’s toes. The event will be one of the 14 activities that Bizanos will offer during the year in this emblematic park.

The race being for the benefit of Restos du Coeur, no fixed financial amount will be required when collecting bibs. On the other hand, participants must bring non-perishable foodstuffs (canned food, rice, pasta, flour, sugar, etc.) or submit a check for the amount of their choice payable to Restos du Coeur. As in previous years, organizers hope to collect nearly a ton of merchandise.

On the course side, after crossing the wooded park, the competitors will take Chemin Henri-IV. They will cross the footbridge over the expressway leading to Nay, then walk on the territory of Meillon and Aressy before returning to the finish, judged on the esplanade of the castle. Walking being leisure, only one classification will concern running. A license or a medical certificate for the practice of athletics will be requested from the runners.

At the end of the event and until 5 p.m., the organizers will be offering entertainment for the family. Among these: laser gun, archery, volleyball, badminton, bouncy castle… On site: fast food and wine tasting from Franqueville winegrowers.
