Naiara Villasante got the gold and there were bronzes for Eva Manzanas, Nahia Arregi and Aritz Austing
The Judo Klub Lizardi athletes have won four medals in the Spanish Junior Cup held in Binefar (Huesca).
The competition was held last weekend, and a total of eight competitors went to the ‘El Segalar’ sports hall in Binefar. On Friday afternoon, the Zarautz team went through the athlete check-in and subsequent weigh-in before the start of the championship. The different cup tournaments, which are held throughout the State, serve to establish a national ranking, where the first three qualify directly for the final phase of the Spanish Championship.
The eight athletes and their results were as follows: in – 48 kilos, Eva Manzanas, bronze; -52 kilos, Nora Mendibe, 5. place; -63 kilos, Nahia Arregi, bronze and in – 70 kilos, Naiara Villasante, gold. In the male category, in – 60 kilos, Unax Méndez, eliminated; in – 66 kilos, Xabier Aginaga, eliminated; in -81 kilos, Shlava Jhonkadze, eliminated and, in -100 kilos, Aritz Austing, bronze. I said, in total four medals.
