FC Schalke 04 | Thomas Reis speaks plainly: “You have no business being in the Bundesliga like this”

In the first four matches of the 17th Bundesliga matchday, several clubs suffered severe setbacks, including FC Schalke 04, Hertha BSC and FC Bayern. The respective trainers were served accordingly afterwards. The votes at a glance:

Schalke 04 – RB Leipzig 1: 6

Thomas Reis (Schalke 04 coach): “It was an absolutely disappointing performance. If you don’t accept challenges and let your opponents run, you have no place in the Bundesliga. It’s going to continue on Sunday, now we have to get points with a different attitude. I can only apologize to the crowd .”

Marco Rose (Trainer RB Leipzig): “It was an excellent first half for my team – with the ball, against the ball. At the beginning of the second half we had a bit of a problem, we actually wanted to keep a clean sheet. We scored two very nice goals from behind. I wish Schalke despite All the best for the second half of the season, there is still a lot to do.”

Bayern Munich – 1. FC Cologne 1:1

Julian Nagelsmann (Bayern Munich coach): “The point is deserved. We played a very good game in the second half. The two points from two games so far this year are not enough for what we have in mind.”

Steffen Baumgart (Coach 1. FC Cologne): “It’s normal for you to be disappointed when you get a late equalizer. But we can go home with our heads held high. I’m happy with the point. We performed very well against a very, very good team. We played a good first half of the season.”

Hertha BSC – VfL Wolfsburg 0:5

Sandro Schwarz (Hertha BSC coach): “I think we got in really badly. We didn’t have access in the first half. Then it was better in the second half. But overall it was disappointing.”

Niko Kovac (Coach VfL Wolfsburg): “A deserved win. The first half was one of the best we’ve played this season. We knew it wasn’t going to be easy, but we made it easier for ourselves. I’m happy, but I’m still focused on what’s ahead of us expected.”

TSG Hoffenheim – VfB Stuttgart 2:2

André Breitenreiter (TSG Hoffenheim coach): “We started the first half very well. The tactical plan worked perfectly. That was really good – until after a slight loss of possession it was 1-1 out of nowhere. Then you felt the uncertainty, but the team didn’t stop and believed in it.”

Bruno Labbadia (coach VfB Stuttgart): “From our side we saw two different halves. In the first half we missed a few things. We didn’t find the means we had hoped. In the second half we showed a completely different face and that game shot.”
