Dynamo Dresden: Will this star soon be gone? | Sports

In just under two weeks, Dynamo will start the second half of the season against Meppen. It’s already exciting: Who will then be on the pitch?

It is pretty certain that there will be changes in the team after the disappointing first half of the season.

Sports director Ralf Becker (51) had set the direction last year: “Everything is turned upside down. The decisive factor is not the name, but only the performance.”

Captain Tim Knipping (30) could become a “hard case”!

The fact is: the central defender was set in the promotion season and at the beginning of the second division series and was one of the top performers. But it is also true that Knipping fought back quickly after his cruciate ligament rupture in August 2021, but has been chasing his top form for a long time.

BILD knows: Nevertheless, there were talks between the two sides last year to extend the contract with the defensive edge, which is due to expire this summer. But they were unsuccessful because Knipping only wanted to extend for the 2nd division. “To go around with Dynamo in the 3rd league” is apparently not his claim.

In plain language: the signs are set to separate in the summer after three years!

After the performances shown so far, Claudio Kammerknecht is now set in central defence. Next to him, Kevin Ehlers, Jakob Lewald and Knipping will be fighting for second place until the end of the season.

Without judging that too highly: In the Turkey camp, Knipping was only on the pitch in the second half of both friendlies.

Tuesday (1 p.m.) tests Dynamo at league competitor Zwickau. Maybe there’s another clue…
