Does Marco Reus have to leave BVB and what about his future?

Yes, Reus should draw a line in Dortmund

Marco Reus should no longer try to extend his contract in Dortmund, but embark on a new adventure in the summer at the age of 34. Because he will probably no longer get a long-term contract with BVB. A short-term, performance-related contract, on the other hand, is a gamble – especially for footballers like Reus who are prone to injuries. And so not a good option. He should also draw a line at BVB to make room for young offensive players.

But he shouldn’t go to Leipzig. On the one hand, BVB fans would never forgive him for that, because RB is hated by many supporters. On the other hand, he does not fit there in terms of sport. Leipzig primarily relies on young players with potential to develop. Reus is a football oldie.

The most sensible thing would be to go abroad. But not to a top European club like Manchester United. But better in a weaker league. There he could have a say in the game when he was a footballer, have fun and earn a lot of money at the same time. A move to the USA would be ideal, or to Saudi Arabia to the Ronaldo club Al-Nassr. That would be surprising for everyone, but also useful.

And anyone who now says that Reus then has no chance of home EM 2024 is right. But he doesn’t have that either. There are now too many good, new, German offensive players for that.
