Demetrio Pinto, from Badminton Zamora, makes his debut in Sub-13 with a fourth place

The CD Badminton Zamora starts the new 2023 season with very good feelings, and a valuable fourth place. One of the first stops of 2023 was in Vigo, where the first National Under-13 Master of the season was held. The only representative of the Zamorano club traveled to Galician lands, Demetrio Pinto, being his first competition in this categorysince he has just finished his career in the Under-11s and the only objective was to gain experience against a priori superior and older players.

Despite this, the man from Zamora began the competition by winning his first match against Xavi Freire, a player above him in the national ranking. Confidently he reached his second game, facing Iago Álvarez, who was ultimately runner-up in the competition and a currently recognized player at the national level. Demetrio played a high-level match, leading his opponent against the ropes, forcing a third set where he finally ended up giving in and therefore being left out of the final phase. However, one can speak of an excellent role, of the young member of CD Badminton Zamora, making it clear that he is at a high level.

Demetrio Pinto returned to the track in the men’s doubles modality, along with his usual partner from CB Valladolid, Diego Muñoz. Once again they showed a good game, losing in two games due to tight results, having victory in their hands and finally winning the match for fourth place in 3 sets. With this chocolate medal the season begins for CD Badminton Zamora. This coming weekend will be the turn of the Absolutes and Seniors in the Second Division of the National Club League, having in mind and as an objective the promotion to the bronze category of this league that was so close last season.
