Déiver Machado interests Atlético de Madrid and Real Sociedad | Colombians Abroad

Déiver Machado has become one of the great left-backs in Ligue 1 in France. The Colombian who went through Millonarios and Atlético Nacional has been very good at French football, and although he is not a fixture at Racing de Lens, he has had more appearances as a starter than from the substitute bench. In the current season he has played in 17 games, being a starter in 15 of those games played, scoring a goal and giving an assist.

Without a doubt, the good level that Déiver Machado maintains has made several clubs behind his talent. Déiver, 29 years old, could take a big leap in his career in search of glory in an important league like the Spanish one with a team that seems very interested in him.

One of the clubs that has had problems with the left wing in Spain is Atlético de Madrid, which sent Renan Lodi to Nottingham Forest on loan in search of minutes and more appearances, and also with Reinildo. For this reason, it is said in Spain that they would have set their sights on the Colombian defender, Déiver Machado. According to the newspaper AS, there has not been a formal offer, but they are following the situation of Déiver, who ends his contract in 2024 with Racing de Lens.

It is no secret to anyone that it would be a great challenge for Déiver Machado, and it is worth remembering that the last Colombian who was at Atlético de Madrid, Santiago Arias, also a full-back, left without pain or glory, since he was never to Diego Pablo’s taste Simeone. Déiver would have to earn the position if he arrives in Spain, a different reality from what he lives in Racing de Lens being the indisputable starter.

In Spain they also emphasize that Atlético de Madrid would not be the only club interested in Déiver Machado. Real Sociedad has also been interested in looking for a left back on the market. Lens will be watching, as he has shown a desire to renew it. If he is the undisputed starter, he could row against the current to earn a place in two Spanish clubs that have more European recognition than the French team. For now, it only remains rumors, since neither Atleti nor Real have presented formal offers.
