Dani Alves will testify before the Mossos on Friday for the alleged sexual assault

BarcelonaThis Friday morning, the Brazilian footballer Dani Alves is summoned to the police station of the Mossos d’Esquadra de les Corts, in Barcelona, to testify as investigated after a woman reported him for sexually assaulting her last December 30 at the nightclub Sutton from the Catalan capital, according to sources familiar with the case consulted by the ARA. Alves is currently playing for Pumas de México, but is in Barcelona and will go to the police station in person. Then, according to the same sources, the intention is for the ex-Barcelona footballer to go to court. That means he could testify before a judge again on Friday afternoon. As long as he does not pass, he will be arrested and guarded by the Mossos. If the statement in court is postponed until Saturday, he will have to spend the night in jail.

According to the woman’s version, Alves put his hand inside her clothes in the middle of the party room. Sources from around the footballer, however, deny the facts. Although they confirm that Alves was at the Sutton nightclub that night, they say that it was only a short time and that “nothing happened”. Without the complaint, which came a few days after the alleged assault, the Mossos were already investigating the events after they were notified by the nightclub’s security. Friends of the victim warned about it. The victim’s demand allowed the police to speed up the investigation and not have to act solely ex officio. Two weeks after the complaint, Alves will testify as investigated.
