Dani Alves is no longer in Pumas de México due to possible abuse scandal

Dani Alves is experiencing one of the worst days of his life. This January 20, several portals reported that the winger is in provisional prison for being accused by a woman of assault. This extra-sports event was more than enough for his current team, the Pumas de México, to decide to remove him from his squad forever.

Pumas president Leopoldo Silva said:

“Regarding the legal process facing the player Daniel Alves, and for which he is detained in Spain, we have determined to communicate the following: The Universidad Nacional club has made the decision to terminate the employment relationship with the player Daniel Alves for just cause from this day.”

In addition to this, the manager stressed that, despite the fact that everything is still under investigation, the Mexican club will not tolerate these scandals against any player on its squad.

“The Club Universidad Nacional is an institution that promotes respect, upright, dignified and professional behavior on and off the field of its players and players because they are a role model in their lives in Mexico and anywhere in the world and not we can allow someone’s conduct to harm our work philosophy, which has been an example throughout history in the training and development of young athletes in our country”, he added.
