Dani Alves in custody after allegations of sexual aggression

Dhe Brazilian footballer Dani Alves has been taken into custody in Spain on charges of sexual aggression against a young woman. The competent judge in Barcelona also ruled out the possibility of bail and thus granted the public prosecutor’s application in all respects, the judiciary announced on Friday. The 39-year-old had previously denied the allegation.

The crime is said to have happened in a nightclub in Barcelona at the end of last year. According to media reports, Alves had complied with a summons from the police in Barcelona on Friday and, after a brief questioning, was arrested in a police station and taken to the city’s justice center. Sexual aggression carries between one and up to 14 years in prison in Spain.

According to media reports, the ad was reported by a 23-year-old who had made serious allegations against the Brazilian. Alves, on the other hand, said that although he was at the disco that night, he was not guilty of anything.

“I reject that. I enjoyed myself, but without getting too close to others, and I was always considerate of those around me,” Alves told TV channel Antena 3 shortly after the advert earlier this year. He does not know the woman who is accusing him. The Brazilian was under contract with FC Barcelona until 2022 and last played for the Mexican club UNAM Pumas.

He took the consequences on Friday and canceled the contract with the defender, President Leopoldo Silva spoke of a “justified reason”.
