Livio Fassinotti was the name of the Italian tourist who died on Tuesday evening in an accident at the Paris-Dakar 2023, while taking photographs at the passage of the ninth stage of the rally underway in Saudi Arabia. “I would like to express my condolences to his family and friends. I am terribly sorry for what happened. It will haunt me for the rest of my life.” These are the words spoken in a video posted on social media by the Czech driver Ales Loprais, which invested during the ninth stage of the Paris-Dakar Livio Fassinotti, 69 years of None (Turin). According to an initial reconstruction, Loprais would have hit the man who was taking a photo behind a sand dune.
