Cristiano’s cold debut with Al Nassr

After serving his sentence and being part of the All Star of the Saudi league in the friendly against PSG, Cristiano finally made his official debut with Al Nassr, 24 days after announcing his signing for the Arab club. He did it with a victory against Al Ettifaq, a mid-table team whose best-known player is the Swedish Quaison. The twists and turns of life; Just a few months ago he was lucky if he didn’t have Halaand, Salah or Odegaard in front of him.

Despite being the last to arrive, Cristiano stepped onto the grass of a packed Mrsool Park as captain of Al Nassr. It is the new one, but also the one that charges the most and the one that commands the most. Seeing him without the bracelet would have been an administrative stunt. If any comrade objects, he just has to complain to the sheikh and wait for an answer, probably in the form of dismissal. Once the chain of command is publicly exposed, Cristiano did not take three minutes to have his first chance in the Saudi leaguebut his shot with the right was deflected to a corner by a center-back.

tedious party

Al Nassr is a team that without Cristiano was already designed to win the Saudi league. He dominates his matches, generates more chances than his rival and usually wins. The ideal team for the Portuguese, who to feed his ego and continue fattening his spectacular statistics needs to be nourished by chances. Almost all the balls that crossed the middle of the field passed at some point through his feet or, at least, went in search of him. After half an hour, Al Sulaiheem crossed a ball into the area for Cristiano, who shot it into the air, and ended up on the head of Talisca, who scored Al Nassr’s first goal in the CR7 era. The goal and a free kick by Cristiano on the edge of the box that went over the crossbar was the highlight of the first half.

What came after the break was more of the same: an insipid match where Cristiano added some spice to his attempts to score his first goal. He even tried Chilean, but he did not have his day. Of the rest, as expected, little can be said.
