Cristiano Ronaldo: game postponed, huge chaos at Al-Nassr | Sports

Nothing works in the desert anymore…

For Cristiano Ronaldo (37) this Thursday was actually the first competitive game for a club since November 6th last year. Actually …

Then it turned out: The Portuguese is not even allowed to play for his new club Al-Nassr. A ban from the Premier League is to blame.

Now it gets even crazier: Al-Nassr vs. Al-Ta’ee’s entire game has been rescheduled.

The club announced this on Twitter. Al-Nassr writes there: “Due to heavy rain and weather conditions affecting the electricity supply to the stadium, we have been officially informed that tonight’s game against Al Ta’i will be postponed by 24 hours. We apologize for the inconvenience caused to the fans and wish everyone a safe journey.”

Bitter for the fans of the Saudi Arabian leaders. Because they were counting on Ronaldo’s debut, the game against Al Ta’ee quickly sold out with 28,000 tickets. So far, the stadium has not been full for any other home game.

What a scene! Ronaldo’s dream goal right in the first training session

Background to Ronaldo’s ban Background is a penalty imposed on him by the English FA on November 23 for slapping a mobile phone out of a fan’s hand.

Ronaldo had shortly thereafter terminated his contract with Manchester United and could no longer serve the ban. According to the FIFA statutes, a ban usually passes to the new club. When asked, the world football association referred to its rules and the Saudi association.

Ronaldo is now expected to make his league debut against Ettifaq FC on 21 January. The game is again a home game for Al-Nassr. Then the fans should really be able to admire Ronaldo on the lawn.

If it doesn’t rain again in the desert…
