Copa del Rey: Extra time win – Benzema cheers Real Madrid | Sports

Real Madrid saves one more round – thanks to Karim Benzema (35)!

The royals are in the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey, winning the explosive city duel against Atlético Madrid after falling behind 3-1 after extra time. In the 104th minute, the Frenchman put his team on the road to victory at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu.

The team coached by Carlo Ancelotti (63) can continue to dream of winning the Spanish Cup for the first time in nine years. Real last won this in the 2013/14 season.

In the run-up to the capital city bang, a few Atlético idiots shocked with a more than tasteless action!

They were hanging on a bridge near the Real Training Center a poster with the inscription “Madrid hates Real”. Next to it dangled a “hanged” doll that was supposed to represent real star Vinicius Junior (22). The doll is wearing his number eleven jersey. Incomprehensible!

About the game: Atlético provides the first highlight there!

19. Minute: Koke lifts the ball right into the penalty area. Molina lays straight across the middle to Morata, who only has to push the ball over the line from a short distance – it’s 1:0!

Real makes the game, but Atlético makes the hit. And as a result, the royals have significantly more possession of the ball, but are too harmless on the offensive and inaccurate in the end.

Nothing happens for a long time after the break – then Rodrygo makes a big appearance!

79. Minute: The Brazilian grabs the ball, lets four Atlético players out and shoots the ball with his outside instep into the near corner to make it 1-1 – what a goal!

And so it goes into extra time, in which Atlético defender Savic gets yellow (97th) and then yellow-red (99th) within two minutes. An action with consequences.

With a majority, Real turns the game! Asensio’s cross from the right slips through to the second post to Benzema, who slides into the left corner from six meters to make it 2-1.

In injury time injury time, Vinicius Junior (120+1) makes everything clear with the 3:1.
