Chelsea host Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League continued, Sunday (15/1/2023) evening WIB. The Blues won 1-0 thanks to a Kai Havertz goal in the second half.
The result returned Chelsea to winning ways. Before facing Palace, Hakim Ziyech et al got a series of bad results in four matches.
Chelsea recorded one draw and three defeats. In that series of bad results there was a 0-4 defeat to Manchester City in the FA Cup.
The series of negative results that made Chelsea and Potter highlighted sharply. So the victory over Crystal Palace slightly lifted Chelsea’s burden.
“I would be lying if I said I wasn’t relieved because it was nice to win,” said Potter Sky Sports.
“You have to face tough times and difficult situations, accept criticism and take responsibility. That’s what we’ve tried to do.”
“The players suffered, of course it’s not fun, but that’s why it was important for them to enjoy the win today. It gave us a bit of a boost for the weekend,” he said.
Thanks to this victory, Chelsea now collects 28 points in 10th place Premier League standings. They are 10 points behind the top four.
