Linebacker Gabriel Gabriel ‘Borel’ Theodoro, a former Six-Spartans player, has his bags ready to play for Australia’s Sydney University Lion. The Brazilian defender will travel to the Oceania country on February 16 and will have a two-year contract with the Australian team.

The new team that Gabriel Borel will defend is quite traditional in Australia, being the current state champion of New South Wales and having 22 championship titles in his gallery. The national tournament gives access to National League from the country.

In contact with Valinor Content, Gabriel Borel explained how the contacts with the Sydney University Lion were made.

– The contact happened after the disclosure of the highlights. The Sydney University Lion linebacker coach saw it and invited me to join the team. I’m going on a student visa and signed a two-year bond with the team-he said.

Gabriel Borel is very excited about the opportunity and also points out that the Australian team has high expectations with his performance.

– I hope to show my full potential, I was the third best linebacker in the SPFL last year. So I want to show my skills at the Australian championships and I know they expect a lot from me. They are calling me ‘absolute weapon’ (absolute weapon) as if I was already at a level above what they play – he highlighted.

One of Gabriel Borel’s goals with this experience is to raise his level even further and be summoned to the brazil jaguarsthe Brazilian team of the modality.

– My big dream in American football is to defend Brazil. I believe that with this opportunity I can stay on the radar of the technical commission of the Brazilian national team – he highlighted.

This will be Gabriel Borel’s second visit to American football abroad. In February 2020, the Brazilian player spent 1 month training with Felinos Football.
