TRIESTE The landing of the Americans in Trieste and the establishment of the new ownership, which will materialize in these days with the ratification of the transfer of 90% of the shares of the share capital, brings novelties from the market. From words to deeds, yesterday the club formalized the signing of Emanuel Terry, the US forward-center who signed the agreement with the red and white club until the end of the season. A graft wanted to give greater solidity to a team engaged in the fight for salvation and increase the potential of the big package available to coach Marco Legovich.
Terry comes from the Korean league having started this season with the Samsung Thunders of Seoul, a team in which, in the 24′ average played, he scored 11. 3 points and 9 rebounds per game. A modern big man who knows how to express his athleticism on both sides of the court, he is able to give great depth in two-man games thanks to his ability to close over the rim. In defense he can represent an added value being able to be a good interpreter both with containing and more aggressive defenses. Terry’s arrival reinforces but doesn’t change the roster available to Marco Legovich. No departures are foreseen, the 5+5 formula with which Trieste is facing the championship does not change for the moment.
«As you know we were looking for a reinforcement – said the president Ghiacci – and although at the moment the market does not offer great ideas, we managed to add an element to our roster that we consider extremely useful. As far as the assessments on the team and on a possible transition to 6+6 are concerned, at the moment nothing is defined yet. Terry left Korea yesterday to return to the United States and complete the administrative procedures necessary to obtain the visa. We are working to get him to Trieste as soon as possible but we are waiting to have him here before making a decision».
Satisfied Marco Legovich who with Terry adds a valuable alternative to his roster. «I would like to thank the owners for this important addition which increases the solutions available to us. His European curriculum is certainly an important calling card. Terry is a versatile player, with excellent physical qualities, capable of expressing his verticality and speed within the pick and roll game. Defensively he is a box intimidator, with great timing for assists, blocks and rebounding presence. Finally, his reactivity allows him to be a factor in defence, marking both big men and making defensive changes on the outsides ».
