Biathlon dates 2022/23: Live today in Antholz – who is broadcasting on TV? – Sports

Quentin Fillon Maillet and Marte Olsbu Roiseland dominated the Biathlon World Cups last season and will go into the coming winter as overall winners. The athletes drive to a total of nine World Cup stations, plus next year’s highlight: the Biathlon World Championships in Oberhof.

New points system in the World Cup

This season it will scoring system adjusted for the overall ranking and the discipline ranking. For a win there are now 90 points instead of the previous 60, the further points are staggered accordingly. In addition, there are no more discarded results, so far the two worst have been discarded.

Biathlon-Weltcup in Kontiolahti (Finland)

First World Cup winner of the 2022/23 season Martin Ponsiluma, who surprisingly prevailed in the singles. For the Germans, the start went well in the first week: In addition to second places in the relay David Zobel (single) and Roman Rees (Sprint) in third place. There were also a number of top ten placements.

Biathlon World Cup in Hochfilzen (Austria)

In the Austrian Hochfilzen was happy Denise Herrmann-Wick about their first win of the season. For men, the men around the biathlon machine dominated Johannes Thingnes Bö. He picked up three victories – one of them with the relay. The women were allowed to spend the weekend Julia Simon happy about two successes – first in the pursuit, then in the relay.

Biathlon World Cup in Annecy Le Grand Bornand (France)

The last weekend before the Christmas break was again all about the Norwegians. Johannes Thingnes Bö gave the competition no chance in the sprint, but his compatriots Laegreid and Dale then won the pursuit and mass start. Just Benedict Doll provided a ray of hope with a podium finish and a top ten finish. In the women fetched Anna Magnusson her first ever World Cup victory. in the sprint Denise Herrmann-Wick Third, it was the only place on the podium for the German women. The Swede Elvira Öberg won the pursuit and the Austrian won the mass start Lisa Theresa Hauser.

Biathlon-Weltcup in Pokljuka (Slovenia)

This year it was a big show for Johannes Thingnes Bö and Elvira Öberg, who won both races. Norway (single mixed) and France (team mixed) won the relay competitions. Benedict Doll4th in the sprint and thus best non-Norwegian, and Denise Herrmann-Wick, 3rd in the sprint and 7th in the pursuit were the only bright spots for the German team. The 13th place in the single mixed relay behind Japan and Moldova was particularly bitter.

Biathlon World Cup in Ruhpolding (Germany)

Like every year, went to Bavaria at the beginning of the year. Dominated once more in Ruhpolding Johannes Thingnes Bö, who despite shooting errors on the cross-country ski run is so fast that he is unbeatable – even with the relay. The Germans celebrated a second place in the relay race, otherwise only two top ten places (Doll and Strelow) were achieved. Lisa Vittozzi just missed a double win. In the individual she was still in front, in the mass start the French had Julia Simon the faster legs. Germany secured second place in the relay behind Norway, which was a ray of hope Vanessa Voigt 5th in the mass start.

Biathlon World Cup in Anterselva (Italy)

The last regular World Cup stop before the World Championships in Oberhof is near Antholz. Last season Anton Babikov and Justine Braisaz-Bouchet won the individual races, Benedikt Doll and Dorothea Wierer the mass start and the Norwegian women and men the relay events.

Biathlon World Cup in Nove Mesto (Czech Republic)

After the World Cup, the biathlon circus takes a two-week break. The next stop in March 2023 is called Nove Mesto, where there was no competition last year.

Biathlon World Cup in Östersund (Sweden)

Östersund in Sweden is the penultimate stop in the Biathlon World Cup in the 2022/23 season. Instead of the start in November and December 2021, only six races will take place. Marketa Davidova and Sturla Holm Laegreid won the individual event at the last edition, and Norway (men) and France (women) took first place in the relay.

Biathlon World Cup in Oslo (Norway)

Like almost every year, Oslo hosts the World Cup final. At Holmenkollen last season, Tiril Eckhoff and Sturla Holm Laegreid celebrated in the sprint, Tiril Eckhoff and Erik Lesser in the pursuit, and Justine Braisaz-Bouchet and Sivert Bakken in the mass start.
