Bdminton: Carolina Marn wins with solvency in her premiere at the Indonesian Masters

Carolina Marn easily beat Wen Chi Hsu, from Chinese Taipei, in her first match in this edition of the Indonesian Masters. The Spanish prevailed by 21-10 and 21-10.

The Olympic champion in Rio continues her Asian tour at the beginning of 2023 after her presence at the Malaysian Open and the Indian Open. In the first, he fell in the quarterfinals against Chen Yu Fei 18-21 and 19-21. In the second, she also said goodbye in this round after losing to the Japanese Akane Yamaguchi, number 1 and current world champion, by 17-21, 21-14 and 9-21.

Carolina Marn dominated the first set without much trouble. Five points in a row allowed her to move up 12-5. With 15-9 in her favor, a new 4-0 run left the set on track until the final 21-10.

In the second sleeve I did not change the script. After the 1-1, came an 11-0 run for Carolina Marn. The Spanish put the direct to settle the clash as soon as possible and thus another 21-10 was reached. Her next rival will be the Thai Busanan Ongbumrungpan who beat the American Lauren Lam 21-17 and 21-15.

Clara Azurmendi also made it to the round of 16 after beating Aakarshi Kashyap by 21-17 and 21-15. Her next rival will be the Danish Line Christophersen, who beat the Singaporean Yeo Jia Min 22-20, 14-21 and 22-20.

This tournament is not one more in Carolina Marn’s calendar. In 2020 he reached the final and almost won the title on the same track where a year earlier she suffered a serious injury to the front of her right knee that kept her out of competition for seven and a half months. In the last two years, 2021 and 2022, he did not attend this calendar appointment.
