Bastián Malla receives two additional months of sanction

Chilean tennis player Bastián Malla, who was banned for one month for cannabis use in 2022, has received an additional two-month suspension after failing to complete a mandatory rehabilitation program. The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) reported the sanction.

The player was originally suspended for three months, which were reduced to one, after testing positive for cannabis use, one of the substances prohibited by ITIA.

After not being able to confirm that he has undergone the mandatory treatment included in that sanction, Malla has been suspended for another two months, which will run from December 19 to February 18, 2023.

Malla, 26, became world number 362 in December 2015.
