The guests from Denver, with Nikola Jokic, had been in the lead until the final quarter. But then Philadelphia was able to rely on Joel Embiid, who ended up being the top scorer of the game with 47 points. With seven points in a row, Embiid turned the game into a 115:110 lead for the hosts just under five minutes before the end. A trio by the superstar 30 seconds before the end meant an eight-point lead and thus the preliminary decision.
As a result of the success, the 76ers now have a record of 32:16 and are further behind Boston in second place in the Eastern Conference. Despite the defeat, Denver is still the best team in the west with 34:16 wins.
