Basketball. N3F: Laureen Maillot, flourishing again in Quimper

NF3. EB Quimper Cornouaille – Chartres (B), Sunday (3.30 p.m.)

Arrived last summer in Quimper after a “very positive” exchange with Thibaud Quémard, the Landaise quickly immersed herself in the local fabric. “I live well here. It’s very nice, ”rejoices the one who also works with the young people of the club while preparing a BPJEPS (1) on a work-study basis. Only the craziness inherent in the South West, he lacks. “In Women’s National 3 in Hagetmau, all the pool teams lived within a radius of 30 kilometers. It was the permanent derby. A feria atmosphere at each match. I admit that it makes me feel funny all these long trips this year.

Serene and motivated

Resolutely optimistic, Laureen Maillot did not seem affected by the results suffered since her arrival. “The collective took a long time to take. But the truce has been good. We came back more serene and motivated”.

Even if the Quimpéroises recorded a failure in Rezé, Laureen did not perceive it as a setback. “We produced a match in the continuity of that of CPB Rennes, with a lot of intensity and desire. It was frustrating to lose, but encouraging. Especially since she could not fully express herself following a small dislocation of the shoulder contracted at the start of the second quarter, “but everything is back to normal”.

In his place

The return of Manon Lombard to the team also reassured her. “She brings a lot of serenity”, admits Laureen who has in fact found her true place. “I can express myself more and provoke towards the circle now. I like the ball too much. Since I was little, not a day goes by where I am without a ball. I have made my passion my life today”.
