Archery. Jérôme Avenec, prophet in emerging countries – Archery

Morbihan Championships in Kervignac

“I made good progress. It’s the training that pays, “laughs Jérôme Avenec who, after returning a nice 556 (out of 600) in qualifying (his runner-up Gwénaël Morel pointing nine points behind), never trembled to transform the test. and conquer his first departmental title. “When I do something, I do it all the way. And archery suits me well. I’m a calm person, ”says the man who previously practiced mountain biking, badminton or Thai boxing as a hobby. “But archery is the first sport in which I shine. With this score, I could go to the French championships”.

But he won’t go. Question of logistics, because the leader of the Archers of Kervignac had not anticipated. “It’s in Grenoble this year, and I haven’t taken any leave”. But he promised to make it his main goal next season.

He will be content with Brittany at Acigné on February 18, where he could well be number one in S2 after this new fine performance, because he had set his record in December: 562! “But I couldn’t do anything without our training group,” he says, full of humility.

Kervignac, premier club of Morbihan

And it is growing from season to season: the Archers of Kervignac have gone from around thirty elements to 134 members in less than ten years. “I have just learned that we are now the biggest club in Morbihan and in the top 5 in Brittany in terms of licensees”, also savored its president David Simon, whose club is also labeled “hope”. Without emphasizing the championship: “People do not come to us with a sporting objective. They appreciate the state of mind, a human club, then they progress afterwards”. Like Jérôme Avenec, who has never been so strong. Enough to also win in Brittany?
