Finistère Championships in Landerneau
La Cimenterie offered an ideal playing field that allowed 30 targets to be lined up. So that the competition could take place at a steady pace. After the qualifying phases in the morning, the afternoon was devoted to duels.
A real war of nerves which does not prevent fair play, as shown by Jean-Marc Delalande, winner in seniors 2, and which brings the only medal of the day to the organizing club of Logonna-Daoulas. “It was a very long day against very good archers. Dueling is cruel. Some deserve, make very good scores and get out… Technique is essential to win, but it’s self-control that makes all the difference, which allows you not to tremble. I don’t come here to make a podium, but just to meet other archers, because there are very good friends and it’s great fun”.
After a three-year break, the Saint-Politain Tony Bothorel, champion of Finistère in seniors, experienced the competition with a little more stress. “I only resumed at the beginning of December and I’m really happy to have won. I held back for four ends, so I couldn’t help but let out a cry of relief at the end of the game”.
