Masan Baseball Center employees Jeon Jae-il and Lee Eun-woo provide first aid
[아시아경제 영남취재본부 송종구 기자] It was belatedly known that the employees of the Masan Baseball Center, run by the Changwon Facilities Corporation in Gyeongsangnam-do, saved the precious life of a customer who had collapsed from cardiac arrest with quick and accurate first responders.
At 11:25 am on the 25th, Mr. A (67) suddenly lost consciousness while taking a break after a badminton game at the Masan Baseball Center Olympic Memorial Gymnasium.
Assistant manager Lee Eun-woo, a gym worker who witnessed this, spread the situation, checked whether Mr. A was breathing and conscious, and requested 119 rescue at the same time.
Chief Jeon Jae-il, who heard the situation, confirmed that Mr. A was in cardiac arrest, and urgently performed CPR and artificial respiration, but consciousness did not return.
In response, the two employees installed an automatic external defibrillator (AED) and performed another chest compression and artificial respiration with an electric shock before Mr. A managed to regain consciousness.
Mr. A was handed over to the 119 ambulance that arrived later and transferred to a nearby hospital, and is said to be in a state of recovery.
Employees said, “Thanks to the CPR practice and safety accident response training conducted at the center, I was able to calmly deal with crisis situations. We will continue to do our best for the safety of our customers and citizens.”
