The Catalan will lead one of the NBA’s Jordan Rising Stars teams

All Star Weekend will be held on February 17 in Salt Lake City

Pau Gasol will be one of the honorary coaches of the NBA’s Jordan Rising Stars mini-tournament to be held on February 17 in Salt Lake City (USA) as part of this year’s All-Star.

Gasol, six-time All-Star and two-time NBA championwill share directing duties with two-time All-Star Joakim Noah and three-time All-Star Deron Williams.

Jordan Rising Stars will participate in the mini-tournament 21 young first and second year NBA players as well as seven from the G League, the NBA development league.

The 21 NBA players will be divided into three formations (Team Pau, Team Joakim and Team Deron) seven players each. A fourth team will be made up of those who come from the G League.

The G League team will be led by Jason Terry, currently an assistant coach for the Utah Jazz and 2011 NBA champion.

The two semifinal games will be won by the teams that reach 40 points first. The final match will be awarded to the first to reach 25 points.

Among the 11 NBA rookies chosen for Jordan Rising Stars are Paolo Banchero (Orlando Magic), Jalen Duren (Detroit Pistons), Walker Kessler (Utah Jazz), Benedict Mathurin (Indiana Pacers) and Jaden Ivey (Detroit Pistons).

Of the 10 second-year players included in the list, names like José Alvarado (New Orleans Pelicans), Scottie Barnes (Toronto Raptors), Josh Giddey (Oklahoma City Thunder), Quentin Grimes (New York Knicks) o Evan Mobley (Cleveland Cavaliers).

Finally, from the G League names like Sidy Cissoko (G League Ignite), Scoot Henderson (G League Ignite) o Mac McClung (Deleware Blue Coats).
