Alexander Zverev: no evidence to accuse him of spousal violence – Tennis – Sports

The ATP had launched the investigation in October 2021 after accusations of physical and psychological violence made by Russian tennis player Olga Sharypova, who was Zverev’s partner.

One of the accusations against the world number four referred to alleged violent acts during the Masters 1000 de Shanghai in 2019.

The player denied having been violent towards Sharypova, who did not file a formal complaint against the German.

The private investigators agency delivered its report to the ATP, that although it “was initially to focus on allegations of violence during the 2019 Shanghai Masters 1000, it saw its field also broaden to inappropriate behavior in other venues, including Monaco, New York and Geneva, mentioned in press articles.

Sharypova, Zverev and 24 other people from their private and professional environment were heard in these investigations, which lasted fifteen months.

“The seriousness and complexity of the allegations required an extremely thorough investigative process and considerable resources. This forced us to turn to specialized investigators, something that was a first for the ATP,” stressed its director general, Massimo Calvelli.
