40/40 in free throws, record night for Miami against Oklahoma

Jimmy Butler scored 35 points (6/17 on shots, including 0/1 to 3 pts; 23/23 on free throws) and the Miami Heat set an NBA record by making 40 free throws in their 112- 111 over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night, erasing Utah’s 39/39 against Portland in 1982.

Butler, Miami’s only regular starter, tied Dominique Wilkins (in 1992) with 23 free throws for the second most successful free throws without a miss in NBA history (the record, 24 , being held by James Harden in 2019 and Dirk Nowitzki in 2011).
