The 2023 Copa Libertadores will have a 21% increase in its economic prizes, compared to the 2022 edition, and will distribute 207,800,000 dollars among the teams that participate in the tournament.
The first phases of the Libertadores will have the same awards as the previous year. That is to say: the clubs that play the first phase will take USD 400,000, the second phase USD 500,000 and the third phase, the prize will be USD 600,000.
Starting in the group phase, the great prizes arrive and a new motivation from Conmebol to the clubs in competition.
Each team is guaranteed $3 million in pools; but the novelty is that for each game won he will get 300 thousand dollars, for “sports merit.”
In the direct elimination phases, the prizes will go like this:
– Round of 16: $1,250,000 USD
– Quarterfinals: $1,700,000 USD
– Semifinals: $2,300,000 USD
– Runner-up: $7,000,000 USD
– Champion: $18,000,000 USD
The tournament champion will be able to accumulate up to USD 27.7 million depending on which instance they started to compete from.
