World Cup 2022: Outsider throws Spain out – The Morocco sensation! | Sports

Morocco writes football history!

The North Africans beat Spain 3-0 on penalties and are in a World Cup quarter-finals for the first time.

The Spaniards lose their nerve from the point – no penalty ends up in the net!

First Panenka, then Penguin Hakimi humiliates Spain

First Sarabia hits the post, then Morocco goalkeeper Bono (31) saves the shots from Soler and Busquets. A true 911 fiasco!

The 2010 world champion bounced off the Morocco wall while the game was still in progress.

The North Africans had conceded just one goal in the group stage. And Spain (nine goals in the preliminary round) can’t find a goal against Morocco either.

The result: uninspired ball movement and only two shots on goal over 90 minutes!

Spain captain Sergio Busquets (34): “It was a tough game. Cruel how we lost. That was a Moroccan wall, we tried everything but there was no gap. We just didn’t finish.”

Both sides only have top chances in extra time. Substitute Cheddira appears free in front of Spain goalkeeper Simon, but cannot overcome him (104.),

In the final second, Sarabia was on the verge of winning for Spain, but only hit the post from a tight angle (120′ + 3′).

So the decision has to be made on penalties. Curious: Spain coach Enrique does not determine his shooters himself. He gives Busquets a slip of paper, who then, in consultation with his teammates, determines the shooting order.

The penalty experiment fails, goalkeeper Bono becomes a Morocco hero.
