What is Felix Auger-Aliassime doing in Togo?

Felix Auger-Aliassime is making the most of his time off. But… what is he doing in Togo? The 22-year-old born in Montreal has an African father (born in that country) and a French-Canadian mother and, in the last few hours, he was seen supporting the project #FAAPointsForChange in situ.

The recent hero of Canada’s Davis Cup feat has donated, since 2020, $5 to the cause for every point he contributes. His goal is to defend the education and protection of children in his father’s country of origin.

The money raised finances the creation of educational support groups, school kits, didactic and sports material, and professional training so that more than 2,500 children benefit from the Auger-Aliassime project.

In videos posted on social media, the Canadian could be seen clapping while they sang in unison and even danced around him. He also served as a soccer coach demonstrating how to stretch properly and even played with them.

on the wall of Tennis Club de Sokode hangs a banner with three of her photos, as well as the words “We support you” and “We stand together.” A whole country behind.
