Wagner brothers win again with Orlando

Orlando. Brothers Franz and Moritz Wagner remain on course for success with the Orlando Magic in the NBA. The Florida team beat the San Antonio Spurs at home 133-113 (61-61) and scored their eighth win in the past nine games in the North American professional basketball league.

The Magic won thanks to a strong second half in which they scored 72 points. As a team, the hosts hit 17 three-pointers. Franz Wagner marked 21 points and four assists, Moritz Wagner had 17 points and eight rebounds.

Luka Doncic led the Dallas Mavericks to a 112-106 (61-50) away win at the Houston Rockets with a personal season best of 50 points. The superstar scored 17 points in the fourth quarter alone, which the Mavs won 31:22. Doncic stayed just one point below his career high. Mavs head coach Jason Kidd described the Slovenian’s performance as a “great Christmas present on a long away trip”. The Mavs had gone away for the fourth consecutive year.

Lakers with next loss

The Los Angeles Lakers suffered their third loss in a row. The team from California had to admit defeat to the Charlotte Hornets at home with 130:134 (67:67). The Lakers again had to do without Anthony Davis, who will be out indefinitely with a foot injury. Lakers superstar LeBron James scored 34 points, German international Dennis Schröder had nine points, four rebounds and five assists.

Isaiah Hartenstein also suffered a defeat with the New York Knicks, with the Knicks losing 117:118 (60:58) to the Chicago Bulls. DeMar DeRozan made the decisive shot for Chicago’s victory in the last second and had a total of 25 points. Hartenstein scored five points and seven rebounds.

The Brooklyn Nets are currently the most successful team in the NBA. With a 118:100 (60:47) home win over the Milwaukee Bucks, the New York team has been unbeaten in eight games. This is the team’s longest streak of success since the club relocated to Brooklyn from New Jersey in 2012. Kevin Durant scored 24 points, Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo marked 26 points but went zero in the fourth quarter.
