Vittorio Adorni, former Italian cyclist and world champion in 1968, died at 85

Vittorio Adorni has died at the age of 85, several Italian media announced on Saturday. This Italian cyclist was world champion in 1968 with Eddy Merckx’s Faema team and won the Giro, the Tour of Italy, in 1965.

The news was communicated by Norma Gimondi, the daughter of Felice, another legendary Italian cyclist, contemporary of Vittorio Adroni: “Ciaco Vittorio, you will greet daddy”.

Felice Gimondi died in 2019 when he was about to turn 77.
