They recognized the athletes from Gualeguaychú who stood out in the finals of the Evita Games – El Día de Gualeguaychú

The act was attended by the Vice Mayor Lorena Arrozogaray, the Secretary of Social Development, Health and Environment, Martín Roberto Piaggio, the President of the Municipal Retirement Fund, Gustavo Vela and the Director of Municipal Sports, Adrián Romani.
Gualeguaychú was very well represented in the 2022 Edition of the Evita National Games, the highest event in Argentine sport, which was held again from October 24 to 29 in the city of Mar del Plata after the pandemic,
The Evita Games are recognized as the largest event in Latin America, and this year they demonstrated it again with a total of 55 disciplines (43 conventional and 12 adapted), attended by a total of 25,000 athletes representing all the country’s provinces. .
The Gualeguaychú delegation that achieved its pass to the National instance was made up of 58 athletes and 15 technical assistants, a figure that constitutes a record of participation for the city in the contest, being the third largest delegation in the province.
Gualeguaychú participated in the national finals in the following disciplines: Men’s Basketball 5×5 Under 17, Girls’ Basketball 5×5 Under 15, Men’s Basketball 3×3 Under 14, Swimming, Boxing, Athletics, School Handball, Beach Handball, Goalball, Adapted Swimming, Women’s Rugby and Archery.
The local representatives, who were flag-bearers prior to their departure by Mayor Martin Piaggio, had a notable participation and contributed a total of 5 medals to the province’s medal table: three gold, one silver and the remaining bronze.
