The Canarinha coach was recognized by Brazilian fans upon his arrival in the country after losing on penalties to Croatia in the quarterfinals.

Although he was one of the candidates, Canarinha was on the verge of playing all seven games. On his return to the country, Coach Tite was greeted with applause from the fans at the Rio de Janeiro airport and could not contain his excitement.

Two days after the fateful elimination that very few predicted, the squad arrived in Brazil in silence. At the end, he left a message for the Brazilian fans who made the trip to Qatar and all those who saw it on television. “We share the joy, we share the sadness. Nobody but us wanted to give that joy. We feel it, with our families, with ourselves”concluded the 61-year-old coach.
